virtuoso Robert Glasper's long-awaited follow-up to his highly acclaimed
Mood

Robert for this recording are bassist Vicente Archer & drummer Damion
Reid, the trio that Ben Ratliff of The New York Times said
"deserves comparison with the best of the newer piano trios, those led
by Jason Moran, Bill Charlap and Brad Mehldau."

solo performances and writes and arranges music for the Becca Stevens
Band which performs in New York. Aside from he

club stages on
both sides of the Atlantic.
Reviewed by international and national press, Merle has been
described as a singer with “sensitivity and sincerity” (Cherwell,
Oxford) and “vocal strength and charm” (Opera).
Her love of jazz and French mélodie has prompted a return to New
York stages where she has been performing with pianist Ronen Segev,
a friend from her studies at the Juilliard School of Music. Last
year the pair performed cycles from Ravel, De Falla and Gershwin at
the Melbourne Arts Festival.
Mike Block
(cellist/ singer-songwriter)
Mike Block is currently performing his own music for
cello and voice at clubs around NYC, with frequent guests that are
slowly coalescing into a sweet band! Mike is also a regular
performer with Yo-Yo Ma as second cellist in his Silk Road Ensemble,
with which he has performed at Carnegie Hall, Japan, Tanglewood, San
Diego, the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Art Institute of Chicago,
University of Chicago, and Millennium Park (Chicago).
Ben Jelen
(singer-songwriter)
A regular on T.O.C, Singer/songwriter Ben Jelen (pronounced
Yell-in) connected with fans early - and fast- with a little help from
the internet. In January 2004 three full months before the release of
his debut album, GIVE IT ALL AWAY, America Online announced that
Jelen was an AOL Music Breaker Artist. In short order, AOL premiered the
albums first single, Come On, and began streaming Jelen's own Sessions @
AOL to new music fans online. By mid-February, AOL reported that Ben
Jelen's music had been downloaded over one million times. When it was
released on April 13, 2004, it racked up sales of 10,000 copies in the
first week.
Since then, Ben Jelen has become a certified internet success story,
consistently appearing on numerous online music charts, including Big
Champagnes Bubbling Under Chart.

these pieces
more convincingly than Ronen."
